I'M NEW HERE

WELCOME!

Visiting a church for the first time can be a confusing, intimidating, and sometimes even scary. Being unfamiliar with the church layout can be confusing and difficult to figure out, so finding things like the restrooms, or figuring out where you are supposed to go for the worship service can be more difficult than it should be. Hopefully, we can help you answer some questions you may have so you feel at ease when visiting us for the first time.

WHAT IS BURBANK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH?

Burbank SDA Church is a community of people who are trying to fulfill their mission:

Learning how to belong to our church family.
Growing our relationship with God.
Applying our God given talents.
Sharing the Good News of Jesus.
Worshipping passionately and joyfully.

Simply put, we are committed to helping people live the lives God created them to live by establishing and deepening their relationship with God while making vital connections with other people. For more specific information about the foundational theology of the church, you can find more information on the “BELIEFS” page of this website.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO TRY BURBANK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH?

If you ever wondered if there is something more to life than what you are currently living, or if you have ever thought that something was missing, Burbank Seventh-day Adventist Church is the place to explore a relationship with God with people just like you.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICES LIKE?

Our main worship service generally lasts for an hour. Our worship services are upbeat, highly spiritual, and very practical. They are designed so that you know what is happening and can participate with any part you are comfortable.

WHERE DO I GO ONCE I GET THERE?

Our church is on a busy street so it is very easy to speed past the entrance to the parking lot. We are located about three blocks north of Alameda. As you drive north you will see a Baptist church then a small apartment building. We are just past the apartments but before the end of the block. When you arrive at Burbank Seventh-day Adventist Church, you’ll enter the parking lot and you will see several parking spaces reserved for guests and would be honored if you would take one. After parking, walk past the three huge trees in our courtyard towards the main doors. There you will be greeted by a warm host/hostess and handed a program. Continue into the Worship Center and sit where you are most comfortable. We hope you will make yourself at home.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At Burbank Seventh-day Adventist feel free to dress as you would like. Some people like to dress a bit more formally and some like to dress more casually. You certainly will never need to buy special clothes just so you can attend our church, so come knowing that your wardrobe will never be an issue for you. Come as you are!

WHAT IS A “NORMAL” SABBATH LIKE?

We begin the service with some music as people gather. This is a good time to have a conversation with friends and meet some new ones. There will be a welcome at the beginning and a closing prayer at the end. In between, you will have the opportunity to sing, listen to a relevant message, pray, reflect, or just sit back and take it all in. At Burbank Seventh-day Adventist Church, you will never be asked to participate in our worship service in a way that makes you uncomfortable.

IS BURBANK SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH PART OF A DENOMINATION?

The short answer is yes. Burbank Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. However, the people who make up this community of faith come from diverse backgrounds. All are welcome.
